MODAAFRICA’s partner that is responsible for the provision of professional makeup material and the supply of their respective professional makeup team, which will be led in this event by Ricardo Pedro who, over two days, will give colour and brightness to the various looks offered by each designer.
Make Up For Ever was founded in 1984 by Dany Sanz, who is a fine art and make-up artist and creator of the first professional school of makeup, which is today a prestigious brand that has primacy for the creation of a unique range of colours, tones and textures for all skin types, including ethnic products especially indicated for different shades of dark skin.
At the forefront of the ecological agenda, Make Up For Ever produces cosmetic that are untested on animals. Through the years it has been defending the motto “Be Green and stay Green … For EVER!”, not only during their daily preventive actions and waste control, consumption optimization but also by educating their employees about their daily routines. In its social responsibility program, it integrates as key-concepts: prevent discrimination (racial, sexual or physical) and promote diversity and equal opportunities as sources of creativity.

MODAAFRICA’s partner that is responsible for the casting and preparation of the models, with crucial contribution in the executive production of the shows, favouring us with the leadership of David Simões in the artistic direction of the event. Founded in 1999 by David Simões with only ten models at that time, DXL MODELS is today one of the most well-known and respected agencies in Portugal, having connections with important modelling agencies in the world. Since its founding, always striving for an ethical conduct of excellence, it stands out for the way all models are treated, as professionals, while safeguarding, above all, their security and well-being. DXL’s ideal posture has secured a salutary commitment, establishing strong and lasting relationships not only with their models but as well as their clients, both national and international.
REBELO DE ANDRADE STUDIO (RA)
partner of MODAAFRICA, which is responsible for the conception of the scenography of the event’s spaces. Internationally accredited in the architecture field, Rebelo de Andrade has already been awarded for several projects, among these: Pedras Salgadas’s project, Eco-Resort, Aquapura, Resort Hotel and Spa at Quinta de Vale Abraão (Cultural Heritage by UNESCO). The projects designed by the RA STUDIO have been published in the international press, in various architecture and design magazines, such as Mark Magazine, MD, Azure Magazine, Àvivre Magazine, among others.
Due to its strong connection and application of autochthonous materials of the zones/regions where the projects are deployed and also the environmental approach that employs, Studio RA becomes a partner of choice in the design of a green scenery, praising once more the connection between the key concepts of Ecology and Ethics, mote and niche of MODAAFRICA.
Also in this edition, within the framework of a fruitful co-partnership, the scenic deployment of Rebelo de Andrade will work with eco-support materials provided by brands such as Sofalca/Black Cork and Gencork.

Designways Studio is a multidisciplinary design studio focused in telling unique stories. The studio believes design is a differentiating factor that allows the distinction and identification of any cause, event, brand, service or product. It communicates its promise and message, its personality, quality and attitude, ultimately influencing its recognition and success. So, the team works to tell the story of each project, to make it fly, to make it special and unique. Positive impact is also important. Every creation and every project has an impact in the present and future world. So the association to social goodness or environmental projects is also an important part of the work (“ModaAfrica”, “CineConchas” and “Salvar o Tua, Proteger o Douro”, are some examples).
Due to the ability to use different approaches, duly adapted to the projects in hand, the team works with different entities from different sectors, which allowed them to grow in various domains. The close, honest and dedicated relationship with all the clients, also helps achieve good and distinct results.
The portfolio includes projects made for the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência, Champalimaud Foundation, Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, CML, European Comission (through CIEJD), and several other national and international entities, companies and brands, from many sectors, including fashion.

SOFALCA is a Portuguese company specialized in the process of production (100% natural with 95% of energy self-sufficiency) of ecological super-materials based on expansive agglomerate cork extracted only from the branches (falca).
It’s a brand characterized for its self-sustaining nature, which aims to create and provide ecological and natural solutions for its clients, both in the residential sector as in the business one. In this edition of MODAAFRICA, in partnership with the RA Studio, SOFALCA presents us its environmentalist line from interior design solutions ‘Black Cork’, here displayed in the lounge-seating, and the creation of walls-dividers for the various event’s spaces
MAGESTIL – Escola de Moda de Lisboa
MODAAFRICA’s partner that is responsible for supplying technical work teams which provide support in event’s backstage, occasion that will offer to young students the opportunity of professional contact with national and international designers, as well as foster their sensitivity and awareness to the world of sustainable fashion. MAGESTIL is a professional school (level IV) addressed to young people who seek alternative training to the conventional education system, offering courses in the areas of communication and marketing, photography and in the textile and clothing industry, among others. Sharing a socially entrepreneurial vision, it proposes an innovative pedagogical and professional approach, betting on technical and creative qualification, and connection to the Portuguese business fabric.
